The automation cell, which was developed in cooperation with Hesse Devices and Production Technology, relieves our employees and increases the quality of the overall process. The robot takes care of inserting and removing the parts. Brushing the parts – previously an extra step in the deburring shop – could be integrated into the honing process thanks to automation.
IThe automation cell is equipped with a workpiece hopper. It contains drawers with the workpieces to be machined. The robot arm independently opens the drawers with a hook, accesses the workpieces and feeds them into the honing process. The finished parts are then placed by the robot in a product-specific workpiece carrier.
At a certain interval, the robot also ejects components from the process on which the IWN employee must carry out a quality inspection. The production cell uses a light signal to indicate as soon as all parts from the workpiece hopper have been machined. Only then does an IWN employee have to intervene in the process and reload new workpieces for machining. The production cell is protected from external influences by a sturdy aluminium frame and acrylic glazing.
