IWN also falls back meanwhile on global suppliers and service providers, provided that quality, price, achievement and loyalty of delivery are convincing.
We continuously develop our long-term and well-trusted relations with established customers and proven suppliers. However, we still do not fail to be open for other partners. The international race to win the favour of clients who appreciate high-precision products and innovative developments is well underway. At the same time we are continually in search of serious and dependable suppliers who can provide us with the best-quality products and materials.
To deal with the challenges of the Asian --- especially the Chinese --- market, two new “Experience Projects” have been recently started. IWN is working closely together with two important project partners, namely the FH Bielefeld (the University of Applied Sciences) and the GIZ (the German Society for International Cooperation). Both projects are running until February of 2020. However, the cooperation between the project partners should be continued hereafter with related subjects.
The first project is sales-oriented and is aimed at investigating the sales opportunities of our innovative precision products towards the Chinese mechanical engineering industry. Moreover, extensive research, and a professional processing of gathered information, are necessary. Initial enquiries from China regarding different IWN developments have already been received. The primary aim of the project is to create a strong fundamental base for successful sales and distribution activities on the Chinese market. For this purpose, IWN is being supported by four students of the faculty of Industrial Engineering at the FH Bielefeld.
The second project aims at an internationalisation of our procurement. IWN has the intention to stand on a broader and more international platform than it already does. Therefore, three students of the FH Bielefeld shall investigate suitable component suppliers for IWN from the Asian market, and shall establish contact data banks, so that the Purchasing Department of IWN can consider and initiate the first supplier partnerships from there.
Both projects are being supervised by Prof. Dr.-Ing Franz Feyerabend who teaches not only at the FH Bielefeld, but also at the University of Shanghai. The GIZ is supporting both projects with the professional competence of two Chinese engineers: Mr. Cong Li is a guest graduate in Bielefeld from October to December 2019, and in January and February 2020 another Chinese engineer student will be staying with us.
